"Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men" (Brooks Philips))

"Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to you powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks" originally by Brooks Philips but made famous by John F. Kennedy. This quote has several meanings to me. It means that one must never settle down, it encourages the achievement of a higher standard. It also means that there is no unconquerable obstacle and that the strength to overcome it lies inside one self. Furthermore it promotes the expansion of one's limits, both physical and intellectual. In the words of Steve Jobs "Stay hungry, stay foolish".

When I chose my major in college, I did it with the certainty that I had no idea of what I wanted to do after graduation. Nevertheless after the first semesters a part-time job opportunity came to me, an analyst position at PwC. I got the job and immediately had to be extremely organized, as I had to do well in school and in my new job. Suddenly I had to do homework in the middle of the night, miss parties and family vacations. Then was the first time that I prayed to be a stronger man. Almost two years after beginning at PwC I graduated from college and from that moment on I have never stopped praying for my powers to be equal to the tasks the life and I have imposed upon my self. Special now that I am trying to overcome this endeavor called NYU.
